An Odd Kind of Day

It was rather a strange day. We had planned on going into the city for some shopping, and got away at about nine this morning. But, guess what? We had just gotten out onto the main highway and were going along when we heard a loud bang - a flat tire! What really surprised us was that it was one of our brand new snow tires. My husband changed the tire in a very gusty wind, and then it was off to the tire shop in town instead of a day out in the city. They couldn't repair it, and we were given another new one. We spent the rest of the day at home. It wasn't a total loss. The weather was warm enough that we washed the car and vacuumed it inside as well (something I've been meaning to do for a few days now). While I was outside I saw the Compton Tortoiseshell butterfly again flitting around the car and house. The butterfly didn't land anywhere though, and I watched it until it disappeared somewhere up near the roof.

I also took my camera and went for a walk on the trail. I don't know what it was about today, but for some reason, I was drawn to all the green and yellow hues. These were the colours that seemed somehow more intense in the subdued light.

Bright little green plant
Wild rose bush and grasses
Part of the trail through the woods
Currant bush in the garden

I'm glad you took your camera on the walk. The picures are most enjoyable.Sometimes second choice can be as good as the first one.

You mustn't have been meant to go to the big city!

It was windy here today too, very windy, but quite mile, up to 14C! We got out on a walk in the afternoon.

Enjoyed your pictures!

We had tire problems too and my husband had to go out in the rain to get some new tires put on. Now we are enjoying a quiet day inside.
